Boat house on Ullswater

Another favourite locations for landscape photographers. This famous boat house on the northern edge of Ullswater in the Lake district is photogenic at any time of the year. This was captured on a clear but cold winters morning. Aperture: f/16 Shutter Speed: 0.3 sec Focal Length: 35mm ISO: 100

Frozen Jetty at Dawn

I originally had a completely different shot in mind when I went to get this. I like taking pier type shots but there was no way I was getting near this one so I concentrated on the ice in the foreground. Aperture: f/16 Shutter Speed: 25 sec Focal Length: 24mm ISO: 100

The Medic

Some images have more of a story than others. On this particular outing with a good friend, who also likes taking photos, we managed to get caught in a good sized blizzard. Boat at Low Tide

Click photo if squashed. This was an old boat that had seen better days. The pebbles and low shooting angle add a different perspective to a coastal scene. This sort of photo works really well in mono I think. Aperture: f/9.0 Shutter Speed: 1/160 Focal Length: 16mm ISO: 200

Boats on Derwent Water

The landing at Keswick on Derwent water is a popular spot for photographers around sunset, handy if you want to chat to like minded folk. I liked this as I managed to get a couple just coming back in from a stint on the lake. Aperture: f/16 Shutter Speed: 1/10 Focal Length: 24mm ISO: 100
